Oakwood Rd – Issues specific to this course
Local residents on Pye Rd
We have had issues with riders parking their cars across the driveway of local residents on Pye Rd, especially a resident Ben at 20 Pye Rd: Ph 0488 177 113 email ben@ahrwma.com
Ben has 2 entrance points to his property on Pye Rd
On 25 March 2022 after a phone call from Ben to Don C, it was agreed that we would place safety cones across his driveways to stop cars parking there, and Ben would move them if he needed to exit/enter his property.
There have also been issues with riders standing on Pye Rd chatting and blocking traffic.
The Race Director instructions for the day are to monitor this and make sure riders keep the road clear for traffic.
Local café
There is no local café close to the course
Start Marshal
A Start Marshal is not required for this course. The starter sets riders off when clear to do so.
A spotter is positioned at the finish line with a hand-radio to let the starter know when clear of traffic (cars and riders) for groups to exit from Pye Rd onto Swamp Rd.
Finish Marshals
Finish Marshals have been allowed for on the course signage map.
These only apply if the Committee elects to stop traffic at the finish line. Unless the Committee advised otherwise, always assume that traffic will not be stopped and finish marshals will not be needed.
